The goal of this experiment is to examine the tritiation of Hydrochloric acid with Sodium Hydroxide. Tritiation is a common technique in laboratory used to determine the concentration of an unknown acid/base solution. This process involves dropping standard solutions (that we know the exact concentration ) until our unknown solution change its color due to given indicators. Which in our experiment, we used Phenolphthalein and Bromophenol blue.
ResultsIn the end, we successfully find the concentration and the pH of our solution. We considered that this experiment is successful and achieve the experiment's objective. However, there are multiple errors that are present and needed to be fixed.

ESLO's
Strategic Learner - the whole tritiation experiment is a completely new topic for me, although, I carefully study about it and organized my experiment process. There are mistakes that effected the result, our team can solve it by using our previous knowledge. I also learned by that error and criticizing myself after the experiment.
ELEMENT CARD POSTER
Our goals on this project was to make an informative poster, by providing facts and applications on a specific element. I selected 'Hydrogen' or symbolized as H on the periodic table. Because hydrogen was the first element on the periodic table, and in my opinion, I think that was very interesting.
INFORMATION GIVENMy element card poster contains brief informations of the element "hydrogen". Some basics informations like atomic numbers (which is 1) and atomic mass (which is 1.008). I also give informations on physical properties like melting point, boiling point, classifications, groups and appearance. There are isotopes of hydrogens and oxidation states. Lastly, I give informations on applications of Hydrogen, for example, uses for rocket fuel.

Strategic learners -There are a lot of informations about hydrogen. I learned that I couldn't put everything in to the poster. I should use only important informations, and only the best information that the reader need.
Innovative thinkers - I organized my poster so that it was easy to read and organized. It was challenging to make the poster looks beautiful, but also neat and clean ( so that the reader could read properly).

In this chapter in General Chemistry, we are studying about Mass Relationship. The purpose of this lab is to have deeper understanding of the concept. The experiment, synthesis of Copper Hydroxide, helps demonstrates mass relationship in real life.
CuSO4 * 5H2O + 2NaOH --> Cu(OH)2 + Na2SO4 + 5H2O
In the lab, we make three solutions.
A) 2.5 g of CuSo4 dissolve in 50 mL of water B) 0.2 g of NaOH dissolve in 25 mL of water C) 0.6 g of NaOH dissolve in 25 mL of water Then we mix half of solution A with solution B. Then we mix another half of solution A with solution C. After that, well filtrate both solution, rinse with water, and put in the oven overnight. As a result, the products from 2 solution differs slightly. The product from solution A have lighter color. And the product from solution B have darker color. |
I have learned many things from this experiment. I learned how to measure mass and converted into moles. Also, I learned to find Limiting reagent and Excess reagent. Moreover, I learned on how to calculate percent yield of the product.
ESLO'S
Strategic Learner - I learned to organize my experiment, by doing a flowchart. Which helps me to know what to do next. I also organize the datas and lab report properly so that it was neat and professional.
