There’s no doubt that college offers us tremendous amount of knowledge and chances to improve ourselves. Although, studying in college can be a massive waste of money, time and opportunities. Which all of these exchange with a piece of paper. Getting a college degree doesn’t mean that a person succeed in their life. Instead, to be happy, to maintain sustainability and to accomplish your goals is the real success in life. Many successful persons we recognized drop out their college and started to chase their dreams, such as Steve Jobs or Bill Gates. Not only college didn’t teaches on how to think , but also, college are not for everyone. Moreover, graduates remains unemployed. For these reasons, college can’t guarantee successful in life. One third of college graduates remains underemployed or unemployed (Dorfman, 2017). According to the statics, 19.4% of graduates from Greece remains unemployed, followed by 14.9% in Spain (McCarthy, 2015); not to mention the rate of underemployment. This shows significant failure in college education systems. It shows that college failed to provide enough knowledge and experience that is required for a job. This prove that degrees can’t guarantee successful in life at all. Additionally, it is true that getting high degrees can be a factor for a person to get their desired job. However, skills and experiences is the majority of getting hired. College granted knowledges but not skills for life. Graduates still needed to gain their experiences in the real world, not in the college walls. So why a person need to waste 4 years in the college, instead of going out to the real world. As referred above, college isn’t for everyone and some jobs doesn’t require degrees. Everyone of us have his/her personality and individual differences. As same as difference in learning styles visual learners (maximize learning by seeing) , auditory learners (maximize learning by hearing) and kinesthetic learners (maximize learning by movement). College tends to be auditory and visually learning, for instance, lecturing. It’s obvious that some student are kinesthetic learners and college can be unconventional. Additionally, many jobs nowadays doesn’t require degrees anymore, such as technician, programmers, singer, gamers, craftsmen, or other specialists jobs. For instance, a skilled makeup artist in United States have an average salary of $63,710 per month. These jobs requires experiences, skills and talents where college can’t give. Attitude and passion leads us to a successful life. The real success in life is to get over obstacles and follow our dreams. College can’t teach on how to think critically, we must learn by ourself. For a larger image, a famous media proprietor and talk show host named Oprah Winfrey had dropped out her college. She once had give a speech about her conversation with her father, “He'd say, 'Oprah Gail' -- that's my middle name -- 'I don't know what you're gonna do without that degree.' And I'd say, 'But, Dad, I have my own television show.' And he'd say, 'Well, I still don't know what you're going to do without that degree.' And I'd say, 'But, Dad, now I'm a talk show host.' He'd say, 'I don't know how you're going to get another job without that degree.’”. In the end, she had proved that her decision paid off, her net worth is estimated at $3.1 billion nowadays (Devaney, 2017). In addition, successful person such as Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Jay Z, Mark Zuckerberg, Oprah Winfrey or even Lady Gaga shared two same things in common, their strong attitude and their spirits in their passion. To sums up, college degrees can prove that a person have quality and praiseworthy. But that’s doesn’t mean you have succeed you life. The true succeed in life is to gain experiences in this big world, find your dreams and accomplish it. This essay is a persuasive essay about "College didn't Guarantee Success in Life". From this assignment, it teaches me many things. I learned to do a research before actually writing an essay. Also, I learned to plan and write a persuasive essay. It was a hard, but worthful assignment.
